Programme one begins by examining the issues that cause conflict on various scales and identifies where global conflicts have taken place since the end of the WWII. Local scale conflicts within the UK are examined, using examples of speed limits placed on Lake Windermere, the conflict caused between local people and Tesco, and the possibility of a fifth runway at Heathrow.
